AMD Ryzen 5 5600H Vs Core i5 11300H which is better

Are you looking to buy a new budget gaming laptop in 2021? Then one of the most important questions you will face is whether to choose the Ryzen 5 5600H or i5 11300H having gaming laptop. Since in 2021 these are the two most powerful processors in the budget gaming laptop segment. And since almost every laptop manufacturer offers both options at an almost similar price, this makes choosing one tough.

Don’t worry we are here to help you out to decide which processor containing a gaming laptop will be a better choice for you. But before discussing which one is better for you let’s see the specifications of both the processors. If you want to build a budget gaming PC here are the best gaming processors under ₹20000 or $250.

Ryzen 5 5600H Specifications

Ryzen 5 5600H is a 6 core 12 thread processor which has a base clock speed of 3.3 GHz and has a turbo clock speed of 4.2 GHz. It has 16 MB of L3 cache memory and is manufactured using the 7nm FinFET process. This processor has a default TDP of 45W. The cores in this processor are based on AMD’s latest Zen 3 microarchitecture. It supports 64 GB DDR4 RAM up to 3200 MHz and LPDDR4 – Up to 4266MHz.

This also comes with vega integrated graphics with 7 GPU cores. These 7 Cores are clocked at 1800 MHz. So this should be a nice performing GPU for light gaming.

Intel i5 11300h Specifications

Intel i5 11300H is the latest i5 laptop gaming processor. It comes with 4 cores and 8 threads with the base clock at 3.10 GHz and Max turbo frequency at 4.40 GHz. 11300H has 8 MB of Intel’s smart cache and has a TDP of 35 W. It supports a max of 64 GB of DDR4-3200 and LPDDR4x-4267. This is a 10nm processor with Intel’s latest Willow Cove cores.

Intel’s i5 11300H has Intel Iris Xe IGPU which is the latest iGPU from Intel. This comes in the newer gen i5, i7 processors and brings performance improvements over the older gen Intel UHD graphics. This iGPU has 80 execution cores and a max dynamic frequency of 1.30 GHz.

AMD Ryzen 5600H vs Intel i5 11300H

When it comes to comparing Ryzen5 5600H vs Intel i5 11300H the Intel’s i5 has 4 core 8 threads while AMD’s Ryzen has 6 cores and 12 threads. This gives an advantage to Ryzen in terms of no cores and thread counts.

But that doesn’t make it clear, since 11300H has a max turbo frequency of 4.40 GHz while the 5600H has a max frequency of 4.2 GHz. As Intel 11300H is clocked higher it definitely has a certain advantage due to it.

Since in benchmarks you get a slightly better single-core score from Intel 11300H. While the multi-core score is much better than Ryzen 5600H since it has two extra cores to give a performance boost.

The performance difference in single-core score is not that large. But Ryzen 5600h has much high multi-core performance compared to the 11300H due to the two extra cores.

For a comparison, Ryzen 5600H has a score of 18340 in Passmark while Intel 11300H has a score of 11780 in Passmark. In Geekbench 5 Ryzen 5600H has a single-core score of 1374 and a multi-core score of 5963. While the Intel i5 11300H has a single-core score of 1433 and a multi-core score of 4768.

This clearly shows the Ryzen 5600H offers a much better performance in synthetic benchmarks due to its two extra cores. And nowadays since most of the tasks can utilize multiple cores it makes Ryzen 5 5600H a better performing processor compared to the Intel i5 11300H.

That’s not it both do have their own advantages, let’s see those to make a clear decision.

Advantages of Ryzen 5600H

  • Higher bas clock speed (3300 MHz vs 3100 MHz)
  • Better manufacturing process (7nm vs 10 nm)
  • Two extra cores and four extra threads

Advantages of Intel 11300H

  • Higher Boost clock frequency (4400 MHz vs 4200 MHz)
  • Lower default power consumption (35 W vs 45 W)

Conclusion

When you are looking for higher performance in Ryzen 5600H vs 11300H there is no doubt Ryzen 5600H is a better performing processor. Even though 11300H does perform slightly better in the single-core tests, but that difference is very low and when comparing the multi-core scores Ryzen 5600H performs much better. So for those looking for higher performance Ryzen 5600H is a better choice.

And for those looking for a lower power consumption processor and more lasting battery Intel’s 11300H can be a better choice.
