How to view message requests on messenger

Messenger is one of the most popular means of social media communication nowadays. And with so many users it does needs to have certain security features. Therefore, Facebook has brought the message request features to Messenger.

This Message request feature essentially hides messages from people that you are not friends with on Facebook. These messages are kept hidden until you approve them. Here is how to view these message requests on Facebook messenger.

Although messenger doesn’t do this for every message you receive from a non-Facebook friend. If Facebook thinks the message is spam, then it is hidden inside the message requests section. And sometimes you might not even receive notification for a message in the message requests section.

What is Message Requests

How to find Message requests.

Message requests is the menu where you will see messages from people that you are non-friend with. While when you click on see filtered messages you will see the messages that Facebook thinks are spam.

It’s advisable to only allow the sender that you know personally. As once you Allow a person to send messages there is no way to undo the action.

On Android or iPhones

Step 1: Open the Messenger app on your Phone.

Open Messenger app on your phone, if not already installed install it through Play Store or App Store. After installing it log in using your Facebook login info.

Step 2: In Messenger, Tap on the Settings icon

Depending on your smartphone platform position of icon might be different. It should be in the lower right corner for iPhone users and looks like a gear.

While for Android users its tap on the Profile picture in the upper left corner. Unless you are using Messenger lite for which its the gear symbol in the upper right corner.

Step 3: Tap on Message Requests

For Android users its direct just tap on Message requests. While for iPhone users tap on People and then tap on Message Requests.

Step 4: Tap on Spam or See filtered requests

The last and final step here is to tap on “Spam” or “See filtered requests”. Here you go you have seen the pending message requests for your account.

Only reply to those whom you personally know. The sender will not know that you have seen the message until you accept the message requests.

On desktop browsers

Open Facebook and then click on the message symbol in the upper right corner. This will open the messages menu on the upper side there is Message requests click on it.

In that menu click on See filtered messages, and this will open messages that Facebook has transferred into the Spam box.
